When a taxpayer experiences a financial hardship, that individual may qualify to have the account placed on hold until the debt expires.
In part 1, I speak about local standards with the IRS and the first page of the collection information statement short form, Form 433-F.

Following the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the IRS would like to urge everyone to do a paycheck checkup. Do you have enough withholding from your paycheck? Not enough (you would owe the IRS on your tax return)? Too much (you would prefer a higher paycheck instead of a higher refund)? In order to check, the IRS has a Withholding Calculator on their website. If you would like your withholding changed, use Form W-4 with your employer.
